Where is the Trail Head located?

At the City Park located a block east of ball field.

 

Are E-Bikes and Electric Wheelchairs allowed?

Only bikes, e-bikes and electric/motorized wheelchairs.

 

In the winter are snowmobiles allowed?

No, only cross country skiing.

 

Are there restroom facilities available?

No, unless the restrooms are open at the city park. Otherwise you can utilize the local business Main Street Bar and Grill.

 

Are pets allowed?

Yes, leashed pets only. Please clean up after your pet.

 

Is there water and trash receptacles?

No, not at this time.   

             

How long is the trail? What is the surface and width of the trail?

The trail is 2.5 miles from New Orleans St to 390th Ave. The surface is granular, crushed limestone and is approximately 10 feet wide.

 

Is there shade on the trail?

Yes, Sporadically.

             

Is there picnic tables or benches available?

Yes, benches along the trail and picnic tables are located at the trail head, City Park.

 

Are there pump stations available?

No, Not at this time.

 

Is there a user fee for ages 12-64?

Not at this time. However we will take donations.

 

Is there camping facilities available?

Waubonsie State, Hamburg, IA; Fremont County Conservation Park and Camp Ground, Sidney, IA;  and Rapp Park, Shenandoah, IA.

 

Are there hotel accommodations near the trail?

Waterfalls Venue, Farragut, IA; Shenandoah Inn and Suites, Shenandoah, IA; Super 8, Shenandoah, IA and various Air BnB’s.
